As per ayurveda, joint pains are due to imbalance of vata or due to accumulation of toxic substances in joints creating vata dosha or imbalance. Basically, in a human body, there are 3 energies namely kapha, vata and pitta and the balance of either of these leads to disease condition.

Vata imbalance can be treated in ayurveda using certain herbal ingredients like for instance praval pisti, ashwagandha, arjuna etc. Another reason of toxin accumulation can be due to body’s inability to remove the unwanted toxins from the body which is due to digestion issues. These toxins may get accumulated in weak joints to cause inflammation and stiffness in long run. Most of the ayurvedic medicine that claims to cure joint pains works on digestion as well as vata dosha using the aforementioned herbal ingredients.
